Review of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018
The author is most excited about theReview of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018 designed to help students of surgery prepare for the American Board of Surgery In-Training (ABSITE), the American Board of Surgery (ABS) Qualifying (written) Examinations (QE), and for ABS recertification. The original inspiration for the book stemmed from a surgery review program we developed at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center.
The review intended to stimulate the residents to read, improve performance on the ABSITE, and enhance their likelihood of passing the ABS examinations on the first try. Based on the feedback author received from the first edition, an author was pleased to hear that the book proved to be a valuable resource for all three of these examinations. With that in mind, author has strived to maintain a strong clinical focus for this
Review of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018.
In this Review of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018, there are some exciting updates and changes. All three are new surgical residents at UC Irvine and were handpicked because of their outstanding track record in test-taking and question writing and their demonstrated strong interest in surgical education.
The author has also added numerous surgical educators from Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, so as to broaden our expertise. Our editorial team reviewed each question for both accuracies and clinical relevance. The author attempted to eliminate issues with “all of the following are true except,” given that such questions rarely appear on examinations. The author has aligned the chapters in such a way that they are now even more in sync with the topics covered by the ABSITE and the ABS QE.
The author has added new chapters and significantly updated each section, to provide the reader with the most updated literature and evidence-based, clinical information. As with the original version, we believe that the greatest value of this Review of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018 book lies in the robust explanations provided for why the correct answer is right and why the incorrect answers are wrong.
As with any review book (this one included), it is important to emphasize that studying surgery by merely
reviewing a series of practice questions is not sufficient. No amount of review can or should replace the importance of regular reading of a major surgical textbook.
A recent multi-institutional study lends support to this. Daily reading, reading geared toward both patient care and ABSITE, and reading from a Review of Surgery for ABSITE AND BOARDS 2nd edition 2018 textbook is associated with better ABSITE performance.
